Stalybridge Celtic is excited to announce the appointment of Steve Dewsnip as the Club’s new Commercial Director.

Steve arrives with vast football industry experience and has held prominent roles with non-league clubs, covering all aspects of off-field activity. Steve was most recently Chief Operating Officer at Southport for two and a half years in the National League North, with responsibility for commercial and operations activities.

Steve, who has today started in his new role said: “I am very excited to be starting in this role as Commercial Director at Stalybridge Celtic. I am well aware from my previous experiences how a club’s on and off-field activities are each vitally important to the success and sustainability of the other; and I am very much looking forward to working with Nigel, Paul, the existing team and local community to raise our profile further and driving forward our commercial activity.

“This club has a great pedigree and history within the non-league football world, not forgetting of course a couple of years in the old Third Division North of what is now the EFL, and I am looking forward to playing a part in securing Celtic’s return to where it rightly belongs in the football pyramid.”

Finance and Operations Director Paul Bowden added: “Over the next few weeks, we have several important announcements to make about the Club’s investment in our ground and facilities, team, and operations. As we further enhance our operations, it has become increasingly clear that we needed an experienced Commercial Director to help us create and manage additional revenue streams.

“I’m really delighted to welcome Steve to the Club.  Steve’s experience will be invaluable and I know that he will quickly build up a network of business, social, and community contacts that we will be able to partner with to help us achieve our ambitions.

“Steve is joining the Club at an exciting time, and I’m really looking forward to working with him to push the Club forward.”

Steve’s experience also includes time as a Director and Consultant to Pilkington in the North West Counties League and also as Commercial Manager of Haywards Heath Town in the Isthmian League.

Steve was the Co-Founder and Chairman for six years of Guernsey FC, leading the first project to bring English national league system football to an offshore island and securing two successive promotions to step 4 and reaching the semi-finals of the FA Vase.

Professionally, Steve retired from a 35-year career in banking and financial services predominantly in business development and sales roles, including 20 years with Rothschild in Manchester and the Channel Islands.
