Tony has been a stalwart at Barrow for two seasons, being named Player`s Player of the Year for the 2014/15 season. He had one of the best clean sheet records in the Conference North that season with 17 clean sheets. He started in the youth system of his home town of Wigan Athletic, but switched to Preston North End, and on his release joined Runcorn FC Halton. In 2005 he moved to Lancaster City and then Burscough, where he had loan spells back at Lancaster, Ashton United and Colwyn Bay. Liam Watson signed him at Southport in 2008, where he made over 200 appearances for the Sandgrounders, including winning Non-league player of the year whilst there. In 2013 he joined Altrincham, but couldn't command a regular first team place and joined Barrow in 2013.
 
After scooping just about every player of the year award for his fantastic performance in the 2015/16 season, just before Christmas in 2016, Tony opted to join Warrington Town FC. During his time at Celtic, he made seventy appearances and kept twelve clean sheets.
